    The problem is most lights are timed to the other lights on that road. Alter one and it affects the traffic all the way down the road and would create gridlock. 

    That neve was the case. They always responded to infrared the older strobes were visible white lights but the sensors responded to the infrared emitted from the strobe. The new emitters use infrared led’s but the system is the same. it is the frequency of the flash that they respond to. 14 flashes per second exactly.

    Nowhere does it trigger the light that is just a myth. If you understood how the system works you would see that flashing your lights will never work. It doesn’t even work with just any emergency lights. There is a separate transmitter that flashes at 14hz and not all emergency vehicles have them as the cost is about

    They respond to a special transmitter that flashes at precisely 14 times per second. No one can flash their lights that fast. The flash your headlights is just an Urban myth and always was.
