I’m looking forward to a positive campaign, full of hope for the future. We're all sick of the fear mongering, the racism, the meanness, the anti-science posture that makes the US look Hee fucking Haw.

Love Sherrod Brown—I’d feel conflicted about him running for POTUS because he’s my senator and I like him right where he is.

Booker made his first TV interview stop at The View this morning. No one has ever said so little so eloquently. He’s got a mental rolodex of profound quotes at the ready; ask him a question and he’ll give an unrelated inspirational bromide about commonalities, shared efforts, values, blah blah blah - but not one

I rest my case.

I honestly just think he looks misshapen in an unhealthy way. Like a middle ages European prince who was forced into existence by an uncomfortable liaison between close cousins zero times removed. But he is also delightful. And who among us is not both ugly and beautiful?

I hear you, but isn’t it kind of a different audience? People who menstruate have been out here trying to normalize it among ourselves for years (see L7 and the tampon), but there is a whole subset of gay men who think vaginas are gross - I see a gay man taking this stand as a positive, since it’ll likely be more

Yeah, body positive for drag queens. When it comes to actual women, both those with vaginas and transwomen, the attitude is “Eww! Girls are icky!”

Imagine the moving lip sync to “Wind Beneath My Wings.” MISSED OPPORTUNITY.

Didn’t the producers also nix (or at least attempt to nix) Mimi Imfurst’s pregnancy themed reunion dress that had a womb-y cross section and an umbilical cord boa? Can’t find a good stream of the episode to confirm if it made it to air or not, but there seems to be some kind of uhhhhhhhh anti-uterine(??) bias at

omg. thats amazing. i went as a “period piece” this year which was a white shirt with a bunch of chunky fake blood and red pants with a maxi pad stuck to the back.

You know, I am actually surprised that I’m ever so slightly bothered by this, not that it exists, just that...I guess it feels kinda...I feel a lil sad that it’s a drag queen breakin’ down those taboos *for* us? I guess is how it feels. Would I have banned the dress? Fuck no I do think it’s amazing...I just kinda wish

I think this is a good and fair point. I’m just not sure that’s the point Ru and co were trying to make given past examples of Drag Race’s antiquated and wrong side of history controversies.

Sharon Needles never talked down to women though. Manila is a dude columbusing period acceptance. That’s what’s in bad taste.

Come on, Ru!!! You didn’t ask Sharon Needles to change her name and though I think it’s clever and no foul there, could be construed as “bad taste.” Questionable call.

You think this dress would fly for biological women on a show like Runway?  I doubt it.

That dress is hilarious.  I once went as a slutty tampon for Halloween, and it’s still my favorite costume ever.

Alternatively, could it possibly be because they don’t menstruate they feared it would be too mocky of women who do? And thus, inappropriate on those grounds rather than “ew periods” grounds?

I love this look, and I double love that her photoshoot with it is in an ornate bathroom. Let’s not only make periods acceptable, but glamorous AF.

Sigh. THIS right here is why I think there are hard limits to cis men doing drag (be they gay or straight) and claiming it’s 100% ok and they are 100% respectful.
