so the average max power of 126.64 isn’t that terrible after all?

Explains how we’ve had 7 of them in the family make 250k+ on the original transmissions............

Due to lack of proper care, yes.

Had the same truck - sorta. 99 Dakota sport with the 3.9 V6 and less fancy wheels. Same A.R.E. clam shell cover too. Put 113k on her in 13 years and to be honest it was one of the best vehicles I ever owned. I had wanted the V8, but honestly that 3.9 V6 did all I wanted it to do.

I miss her. Moved up to a Crew cab

No, this definitely was the best looking generation of Dakota. The one before was indistinguishable from literally every other truck out there, the one after wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great, and the facelift version of that generation is just a pure abomination.

I think he lost it in the granny shift. He should’ve double-clutched.

To be frank, he just doesn’t care. He has his car floating is space right now. A car from a company that HE created is now floating in space thanks to a rocket from a company the HE ALSO created.

Dude, did you even look at the “after” pictures at the top of the article? No proper cage is going to warp and bend like that from a simple accident. You can even see one of the welds that busted on the front hoop.

If an Evo can go flying off the road at Pikes Peak and the occupants can walk away, this guy should have

I think the picture showing the crashed cart tells you about everything you need to know. Almost every single weld is blown out. Also we are looking at the right side when the car hit the left side. More than likely, he was wearing a belt, but the harness bar was destroyed in he impact.

This article seems to be calling out his cage, do you have any proof it was subpar or led to his passing?

When you have kids, you really need to stop doing stupid stuff in life.

I’m with you on red interiors - so tacky. There is one exception though;

So I kind of quit reading at “sold a very nice piece of property on Lake Michigan, quit my six figure tech job”. The common theme among these “common joes go racing” stories seem to be that they start with “already had a lot of money”. Which is basically how everybody else also starts to go racing.

Except if you own one you have to spend most of your time looking at the interior, which is where the 996 has the most issues.

Older Audis are the only cool Audis !

Counter Point: Second gen. is best gen.
