I guess I would have liked for that stuff to be slightly more explicit, while happening with less disposable characters in a scene that has a greater impact on the story. That’s the sort of thing GoT used to excel at — giving you character beats in a totally unexpected way that complicate things further down the road.

Okay, I’ll bite: Tell me why I should care about Arya hanging out w/ Ed Sheeren. Tell me why that wasn’t a colossal waste of five minutes of screen time in a series that barely has any time left.

I’m invested in the series. I’m not “hate watching” it.

ALL CRITICAL OPINIONS ARE INVALID.

First two episodes have been boring as balls, and no one can talk me out of it. Look through the scenes, and see which of them have story beats that are both necessary and sensical. There’s not that many ...

So few of the scenes in the first two episodes had any sort of real story stakes. I’m bored, and it’s not because of a lack of sex or violence!

This shit is why I can’t get down with soccer. Add another couple of fucking refs! Jesus Christ, even if you don’t move to instant reply, you don’t have to embrace a set-up that encourages/rewards this fucking shit.

Yes, but God forbid Deadspin make a phone call or check a fact.

She literally says this in the article.

Still, NO ONE would be squatting there? People are apparently starving. No one raids the ancestral home of the greatest dynasty ever?

Oh my God, that’s brilliant.

Why do people keep praising the Sam scene? The editing was showy, and it all felt totally out-of-place in the episode.

The “shares” thing is a whole other level of stupidity.

How.

It definitely IS racist. The same way it would be damaging if he were walking around talking about how Jews are greedy to “get attention.” A lot of his fans are just hearing that it’s okay to hate and caricature minorities.

Why is this at all surprising, when the Pacers ultimately were only able to get Oladipo?

Even the willingness to be faux-racist to generate attention is, itself, racist. If you’re willing to exploit racist feelings and stereotypes, you don’t care about the real harm that results from racism, and that’s racist.

WTF, Ainge, I thought this is why we weren’t getting Butler?!?!?!

I meant the EU. But, you can make an argument for:

Three? There were three bad ones? You can get away with it for a while, but not forever.
