As a Jewish man and NYC resident, I am ashamed to say that I assumed it was an orthodox/hassid man driving a minivan before I read the article. Similar thing happened to my cousin on a bike near the park. heard numerous other similar stories anecdotally.

Trust the pro...secution?? I dunno, I tried.

I refuse to believe that its a completely unilateral decision. At minimum, one person proposes the idea, the other one says “yes, do it.” In that case — two fish slaps! If I am wrong, then one fish slap for the bad idea, plus another one for the break down of institutional decision making.

In some boardroom of these massive publications that should know better there is some a-hole who is making a business argument in favor of publishing these wing-nuts. I would really like to know who these people are, what their argument is, what the other voices in the room are saying, and what the final rationale

the NCAA is never going to change on their own, it will have to be motivated by external pressure. Obviously, we would all like the government to threaten their tax exempt status unless they start paying all of their employees, but who knows what will happen with this administration.

I mean, it seems pretty easy. Raise the yearly salary of G league players to something closer to the $100k that AZ paid Ayton and let the free market work itself out . . .

Moses Malone and Kevin Garnett are pissed that you aren’t even considering them...

Yea. Gigot has perfected a certain GOP ostrich dance that renders his informed and insider opinion worthless.

Exactly. Objectively speaking, this dude should not be published because he is making stuff up to support a very specific agenda. The NYT Ed. Board apparently knows that his stuff is made up, but nonetheless allowed him to take over their mic to spread his BS, presumably for commercial reasons. If they are willing to

Not all opinions have value. If you think the opinion in question is “disreputable” (as pulled from the block quote above), then you should not promote it in your periodical. This is not a “both sides get a voice situation.” Watson is correct in calling out, what I would term, the “Fuckery” of the NYT editorial board.

oh yea, I know that. Its wack. That comment was almost a year old, but I think I just wanted to get more info on the guy because it sounded like he had good intel. Reading it now, I should have been more clear.

Its in SDNY because of federal question jurisdiction, but New York State and New York City employment law claims are likely involved as both sets of statutes carry some teeth.

I’m pretty certain we agree for the most part. For what it worth, there are plenty of people who are much older and make similar or worse mistakes regularly. I am just not as sympathetic. If you screw up — you’ve screwed up. Yes she is 22, but she is also the CEO, CMO, CTO, C-everything-o of her venture. Sometimes,

This is good. for some reason, I keep thinking its, “Salisbury Steak”

I wasn’t expecting to die this way and now that I am, all I have are questions: is he a lavender man? ocean breeze? maybe some sort of vanilla concoction??

It sounds like you are defending an industry rather than the individual’s actions in this case. Yes, there is a far greater than zero chance that their response was inevitable, but she really did little to nothing by the way of selling her services.

Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for people who have done completely horrible things to rationalize it like they are the victims. No matter what they have done, people always believe that they are “good.”

Haha maybe. Its been years since I worked in restaurants, but its nice to remember the all the weird people who came through.

Just for context, this building is right across the street from the stock exchange. Its in a legit potential terrorist target area. There are bomb sniffing dogs and gates at every intersection. That said, the complaint and rationale behind it is just completely ridiculous.

Special orders would not be such a big deal if the people who insisted on them were not also remarkably cheap.
