Yea, you are right.
Yea, you are right.
I mean, I think everyone agrees that he is not a rapist. So, he is not being “labeled” anything and, therefore, not a victim. What he is, is someone who was accused and absolved. That shit happens, I wouldn’t get the violins out over it.
Yes, being drunk is not an defense to a charge of rape.
What are you even talking about? I believe that she believes she is the victim of a crime. That said, I very clearly said you could never take her case to trial because of her contradictory statements. Be that as it may, a District Attorney should not go back and attack people who report crimes just to make football…
Yea, blackmail is a bit too strong. My point was even if you believe that the victim was assaulted, you can’t take this case to trial because of the very statements you mentioned. That said, there is no reason to issue a public statement making it seem like victims have an obligation to say “no” in order for there to…
Do you have evidence of her blackmailing him? I have not seen anything, just some anecdotal stuff in the comments ...
You pegged the reason why it would be very hard to take this case to trial. The prosecutor has to overcome reasonable doubt and that looks really hard with those contradictory statements. The prosecutor has no obligation, however, to make sure sports fans feel secure in their belief that their heroes are good people.
Unpopular opinion: I could see how some people might think that this would be a hard case to take to trial. That doesn’t me the DA has to turn around and do PR for Anderson by attacking the victim.
haha yea, I got it. I wasn’t coming at you. I was just continuing my righteous outrage from the previous post and you got caught up in it. its the dang internets.
I mean, you are right, but at the same time... DUDE IS A LAWYER. He had to go through a lot just to get admitted that should have clued him in. He also had to go through the ABA review portion prior to even getting to his Committee hearing... point is DUDE SHOULD KNOW. I think there is also some hubris there in…
Also, just the extreme level of being completely unprepared for the questioning. Did he just find out about his nomination yesterday ?
“We don’t talk enough about how dumb a lot of coaches are.” Honestly, we don’t. For some reason we assume that these people are intelligent just because the NFL is incredibly successful. One doesn’t follow the other. These people are time and again proven to be dumb as blocks.
Scratch the surface on that “Foundation for Moral Law” and you will see its just a vehicle for promoting Moore and begging for money from people who want a theocracy. I do not think the Foundation does much other than serve as a second source of income for the Moore family.
I think it’s fair to assume that they will not commit assaults if there is a cop visible so the “hard data” is going to be tough to come by. The whole point of my suggestion is questioning whether an arrest (something measurable, but requiring a crime to take place first) is a better outcome than deterring crime to…
The NYPD has plain clothes cops on the train whose job is the prevent this sort of crime. What if they were in uniform? I think having plains clothes is only important if your goal is to arrest, but uniform cops could be a greater deterrent to this ever happening. I have seen the hearings where cops try to show…
This will obviously make me come off as a jack-ass, but I am going to say it anyways because ... something about shoes. The NFL is not smart. Top to bottom - from owners down - just not smart people. Y’all in the media need to stop giving them the benefit of the doubt. Its like you presume that these organizations…
You are going to feel pretty dumb on Sunday when Kristaps is sitting very still under a lamp and eating dead crickets, just saying ...
Because taking the G to Greenpoint to hit up Paulie Gees is SUPER EASY and Santa Panza is so deep in B’wick that he could probably only get there directly by *shudder* taking the bus ... After living here for exactly one billion years, I am super impressed with anyone who goes north-south in brooklyn/queens or leaves…
Somehow in an article catologuing Moore’s scandals, you forgot to include the FIRST time he was removed from office for violating a court order. http://www.cnn.com/2003/LAW/11/13/moore.tencommandments/
Anyone know why they are filing in state court rather than SDNY?
