this is the most realistic form of optimism there is regarding white people’s racism - just as surely as they’ll always be racists, there will always be POC unwilling to silently assent to being 2nd or 3rd class citizens.

came here to say precisely this; thank you for articulating it better than i probably would have. It’s always been infuriating that so many of my fellow men are so pathetically insecure about themselves in comparison to women.

exactly, soon as i saw that i thought “oh, ok, this author (obviously) doesn’t know what the fuck they’re talking about” and read the rest of the article with that in mind.

all of which speaks to a larger point:  the fact that voting is actively restricted by the powers-that-be.  Why - WHY - don’t people ask themselves why it’s so damn inconvenient to vote, when EVERYTHING about the rest of our society is being made more convenient?  it’s because *they* don’t want people to vote!
