Nope. Aluminum is just as easy (possibly easier) to repair as steel. And not complex, once you’ve retooled and retrained your repair work force. I’m an A&P mechanic and have worked on steel cars as well, and prefer Aluminum for repairability.

Those are probably Observer-Controllers. And there is nothing “tactical” about airborne ops. Airborne is a bad idea that has never worked. A ridiculous waste of time, money, and manpower.
