Usually, white neighborhoods are NIMBYs (Not In My BackYard), so maybe the driver (especially if they are of Color) didn’t feel comfortable or want to go through the hassle of dealing with the possible complaints of white parents.

If you’re trying to live in a city neighborhood thinking it’s gonna be as quiet as the suburb you grew up in, it’s best you stay in the burbs. We city folks don’t like unnecessary, pesky whiners.

I think there’s a difference between race and ethnicity. And I should have stated that in my first comment. At least that’s how I have always believed growing up in the States.

I’m not white, so I group up “learning” that someone can be born with Jewish ancestry (excuse my ignorance or have a blood connection to Isreal), or you can converting to Judaism (although I’ve heard that some are not considered “pure” Jewish through this process).
