I’m going to miss Rory more than I miss the old three. He was the spark that was supposed to relight the chemistry and charm! So he dutifully turns up with a striker and a bunch of kindling, and then he’s out. It looks like his replacements haven’t brought much more than a wet matchbook to split between them

My ‘17 Versa had an MSRP brand new of $12800. A new Mazda 2 which wasn’t even available in ‘17 was $15500. Big difference in money. 

Honestly, I’m sad they don’t sell the Mazda 2 in the US (damn you Puerto Rico!). It’s probably the most fun I’ve ever had behind the wheel of a “small meh car”.

The category the US misses at the moment is cheap ‘n cheerful. The niche filled by proper Beetles, and VW Ups or Fiat Pandas in Europe.

May I suggest the 2006-2010 Hyundai Accent / Kio Rio twins then? People harp on them for being cheap, plasticky, basic and boring, but I’m biased towards them as I have a 2009 Accent hatch base model with NO options and it’s a competent little car! I’ve never had anything major go wrong with it other than maintenance…

Just wanna throw it out there that if you like this kind of thing, the best way to get more of it is to make sure the creators get paid. I *know* there’s some folks out there thinking “$6K/month, they’re living large!” but even for two people + associated other expenses, $6K/mo, depending on where you are, can be…

You gotta remember they’re on a timer, so if a customer pulls up to the speaker and spends a long time not ordering, it runs up the drive-through time and they get in trouble.
