I remember my girlfriend's mom in high school was like this with the steering wheel.  It was as if the wheel had about ten detents where it could be positioned, and a sweeping turn meant constant correction.  The only person who has ever made me carsick

I’m even farther from an expert than you are, and similarly taking out loud. Thanks for the extra thoughts, and I hope you're right!

David, I hear you and think the analogy carries on the production numbers side; XJ Cherokees were produced and sold in massive numbers, just like Mustangs.

Tired, old, and always relevant

I’ve been in hospitality for the past 6 years, and thought the same. During high compression (crunch) times, 55 hours is pretty standard and more isn’t unusual, and this is close to half of every year for our busy season.

This is the answer, right here.

I had the incredible fortune of having a computer with Windows ME, followed by one with XP.  My family really hit the Windows jackpot.

Thanks. And damn, I haven't thought about Yahoo messenger in a while.  It's weird getting older on the Internet.

Tu n’aime pas les canadiens?

Wait, you aren’t judging people for choosing a practical, comfortable car? How did you end up at Jalopnik?

I drive an Element, so I’m used to getting left out of the “funky box” discussion... But I don’t see how the shape of this thing will allow any better space utilization than any other tiny crossover

Oddly enough... Yeah, that works too

It is big, and it feels like it when you drive it (especially if it’s where you store your tools and winter tires),

Don’t forget the Honda Element. A bit chunkier than the other boxes, but still a smaller footprint than a 4 door  Civic of the same vintage.

That’s kind of what I’ve thought, but I feel like I remember the built in emoji in forums being referred to as emoticons at one point. That might have just be me using the wrong term in my head though.

Thank you

Quick, tangentially related question: when did we, as an Internet, switch from “emoticon” to “emoji” when referring to little pictures, and pictures made out of text, in our online communication? It feels like it’s been a few years of "emoji" now, but I don’t remember a transition.

The problem is that in reality, it’s like we’re playing hockey without helmets and with a stern lecture about what’s acceptable before hitting the ice.

I find that last photo weirdly satisfying. Some part of my mind sees it as the truck fixing itself with just a little human help.

Maybe it’s because my early driving experience fell far more on the truck side of things, but I don’t really get the aversion to sidewall for non-performance cars. What looks off to me is rubber bands stretched around the wheels of boring family cars, trucks, and SUVs.
