Similarly, BOF construction is common enough among pickup trucks that I think it’s fair to consider defining characteristic of the vehicle type. That doesn’t stop me from considering the Honda Ridgeline a truck.
I think you'll find that, at least here, any "SUV" that's not body-on-frame is usually going to be referred to as a crossover.
I have the same immediate reaction, but in my area anyway, $2000 is about the bare minimum for any car that will pass inspection without work.
