I don’t care about buying a Kia. But I won’t because I will not spend money at the Kia dealership in Burlington, VT after I looked at their used inventory and got harassed by there salesman for weeks after.

Yeah... I’m not in a position to buy a brand new vehicle at all, much less one that I plan to thrash off-road. I’d guess that a lot of owners are just that next level up; they can afford the truck, but (understandably) can’t stomach the idea of potentially breaking their $50,000 new vehicle for fun.

Pretty sure I’ve seen the button for it in Sequoias too. Always thought it was a cool feature in a car that generally screams “I should have bought a minivan”

No kids, but if anything the door situation might help if you set up child seats in the back. You get a massive opening on each side of the car, as there is no pillar between the front and back seats. Plus, both driver and passenger front seats will slide right up to the dash, giving even easier access to the rear.

I reluctantly bought an Element a couple of years ago, and it’s like a minivan with more focus on cargo than passengers. Gotta love a cavernous, flexible interior.

A good way to visualize what you’re trying to do is too drive at a constant speed and see what your rpm is in different gears.

My understanding has been that most, if not all, fuel injected cars do not run the injectors when engine braking.

Introducing the “David Tracy of AMC Pacers” starter kit!

I mean, it seems to be working. When was the last time you had to put gas in it?

That’s.... impressive.

How did he got the VT DMV to mail the plates, etc to Wisconsin?

I rest my case. Thank you. But if you don’t already, keep an eye on Common Tread, Revzilla’s moto blog. Posts are rare compared to here, but there’s some good reading. It’s the best I’ve been able to find.

I am more than okay with that. I get my kicks on two wheels, so if I could reliably get to work (ski resort, mountain, snowstorms) in that, I’d take it.

Maybe. Vermont lets you register vehicles like this but doesn’t create a new title. It simply doesn’t require titles on vehicles after 15 years. There may be a process to have a new title issued, but I haven’t had to deal with it because I live here.

Maybe in your state. In Vermont, if the car is 15 years or older, bill of sale is all you need to register.

Agreed. Username being extremely relevant, motorcycles are my real love in the internal combustion world. But there is no match to Jalopnik for motorcycle people that I’ve found, so I’m here every day for my articles on things that go vroom, and every couple of weeks there’s a Lanesplitter post for me.

I can’t think of any reason than the seller would include an OBD2 reader that doesn’t make this CP material.

Fascinating how he quoted that article out of context two days before it was published.

Bonus points if you’re dressed as the General

The review mentions a “low fuel” light. This usually replaces the petcock on fuel injected bikes, essentially telling you “You’re on reserve now”.
