This discussion also seems to ignore a very important fact: America’s population has increased 50% in the past 50 years. Average car ownership per household has similarly skyrocketed. All those people and cars have to be/go somewhere, and that somewhere is our roads.
Right, it doesn’t reduce traffic. We all get that. It does allow more cars to move on the road though, which is the point of roads.
