How did Steve Urkel back his Isetta into a wall if Isettas did not have reverse?

Story of my life... I’m out of the loop.  I’ve missed ‘it’ and I don’t even know what ‘it’ even was.

Is there any single car design attribute more correlated to overall automotive design appeal than the distance from the top of the front wheel opening to the hood line?  Less = better.... bigger = worse.  Modern cars tend to be pretty terrible in this regard due to current safety standards.

Ford’s brilliance here is double.  They made a real Bronco worthy of the name and will cash in on that.  But then they also leveraged that name on a beefed up soft roader and called it the Bronco Sport.  The Blazer isn’t even interesting compared to the Bronco Sport.  They did a decent job on that one too.  GM?  I

I always thought that if they had a Corolla derived crossover they should call it the Corollary.

The thing I wonder about is this... Wouldn’t it make sense to replace, say 5-10% of the fleet every year on an ongoing basis? So you could have a fleet that’s not all ancient and so that you could incorporate updates and improvements to the fleet over time? I know they use custom vehicles, but that’s still

About a zillion years ago I had an ‘80s full size Chevy truck. I could reach over the side of the bed and put things in or take things out. I could also take a big step and pretty much walk into the bed.  Very useful and handy.

It works here because the core design is decades old and everyone basically knows what it looks like. If it were going to ‘go out of style’ it would have done so decades ago. Otherwise you get a launch like the Supra, where years of ‘news’ on the same old thing means everyone is tired of it by the time it launches.

Those don’t really sound like “Mustang” attributes, though, do they?

As annoying as GM’s reverse light strategy is, the most annoying lighting phenomena is the pulsing brake lights that people seem to be adding to cars...mostly KIA’s for some reason.  Following them in traffic is like following a red strobe light.

Mustang

Ford is not seeing the stock value because they can’t get the basics of car manufacturing right these days. Focus Transmissions, Explorer Launch, Mustang MT82 Transmissions, GT350 engines, etc. Even the marketing idea to soil a revered and iconic nameplate by putting it on what is otherwise a fine electric SUV does

It might save enough gas to partially pay for a new starter motor in a few years!

Companion vehicle to a Mitsubishi P’up?

It would in theory, but there’s no need to certify, crash-test, or otherwise homologate a car that already has a VIN, so in practice it’s not.

Why stop at the Solar System.  Why not keep going until you cover the whole (Ford) Galaxie.

Marketing/Branding probably has some responsibility too. Back in the day most car design efforts seem to have started out to make a new model in isolation from other models. Now, there is a corporate grille, headlights, and other cues that must be grafted onto every model a manufacturer makes, for consistency. So

Solution:  Shovel driveway.  Fill bed with snow to add weight to rear wheels.  Then, as you no longer need it the snow gradually melts.

With all his flaws, I think it’s OK to believe in Elon, quite simply because lots of people like to believe in someone and...who else do we have to believe in?

So it will definitely float, but it will not float indefinitely.
