Sorry, dudes. Just couldn't get into "The Wire."

My brain almost immediately jumped to Cheetos Cheesy Checkers… the Cheddar Chex Chips sound so much like them.

I remember the first time I saw pints of Jeni's in my grocer's freezer in Wisconsin I went out of my gourd with excitement. I previously lived in Columbus and loved it so much, I didn't even check the price on the three pints I picked up.

A similar thing happened when Vonnegut died. He was coming to a book store near my hometown, and I had planned to drive back from college to see him, my hero. I was totally excited and incredibly nervous. But he died two weeks before his appearance. And that was the end of that.

Thank you! And thanks for reading. I hope you'll start checking out the Record more frequently. The fellas are doing some pretty great stuff. They're great writers, and I'm happy they've giving me the thumbs up to join the ranks.

Man, life is pretty dang good. Celebrated my first wedding anniversary last weekend; spent the weekend in a little town known for their Swiss food and an incredible brewery (that only distributes in Wisconsin). Had a blast, ate some incredibly horrible-for-me food, and drank a lot. It's fun being married to someone

That is literally a scenario in a Nelly song.

Bing again!

Congratulations! Now, "You're my friend and a whole lot more!"

Conan's Clive Clemmons "Inappropriate!" sketch came on and my brother and I (probably 10 and 12 years old at the point) thought it was about the funniest thing we'd ever

We had a pretty beautiful, 76-degree day in Milwaukee on Sunday. I spent about five hours clearing out my garden, tilling the soil, adding top soil and planting pretty much everything. It poured rain off and on Monday afternoon/night, and now I'm worried my little guys are all going to be drowned.

Ups for Cap'n Jazz!

A few weeks ago my husband and I got into a huge debate as to whether the lead-in to a news segment on TV was "Walkin' on the Sun" or "Then the Morning Comes." We were both completely convinced it was either one of those songs, and we played the songs back to back to figure out which it was. They are the same song.

The Menzingers - Rented World (about a hundred times since its release a few weeks ago)

Last summer, I watched my friend's cat at my house for two weeks while his band was off in Australia on tour. I've got two cats at home already, and my friend's cat was not a fan of either. I had to shut her in our guest room during the day so the three cats wouldn't fight while I was away. Understandably, all three
