If they have to keep something new for later, then why did they bother with any of this today? Why not wait?

I couldn't tell if you would be paying for each game, or if it was more of a Netflix for games, and you could play any given game streamed to your console. I'm not sure I'd feel better about paying per month... though, I already pay for Live and that doesn't stream two decades of games.

Should we make the assumption that the console design will mimic this camera? I don't like that it resembles a row of legos snapped together.

I know I wont be able to tell that they have modeled the direction of each microscopic metallic fleck of paint, or that they emulated the effect of each individual thread in the weave of the carbon fiber... but I'm excited that they did.

Thanks for live blogging, I had audio but the video lagged. Nice to know what was happening while they were silent during trailers and gameplay.

THIS.

Ok, so... Microsoft better send this kid another xbox.

I had completely forgotten about the PSP Go. I think the lack of interest in that system is the only reason Vita isn't download only. Thank you PSP Go!

Oh that makes a lot of sense, I didn't know that.

Yeah, I know it's not a new discussion, but I have changed my opinion and wondered where others stood. I used to think that these apps were something less than video games, but I think I'm abandoning that notion. I've played some unoriginal, short, puzzle type games on gaming handhelds for years. That is an important distinction between Draw Something and Sims. I wonder about the non-gamer who starts playing Draw Something, gets bored with it. Will they look for another game, or do something like Pinterest as a replacement?

I would consider Tetris a casual game, though I'm not sure what conclusion you are making.

I agree, though I'm not sure if you were implying that I was advocating race-blindness, or just making that comment in general.

This game is far more popular than I would have guessed. Do you think successes like this are a gateway for non-gamers to start playing more games, or an indication that, due to profitability, the nature of video games will become more casual?

Thanks for the insight! Magazines in the US seem to be opposite in every way.

I think when any group is singled out and tallied in a genre, progress veers off-course. Furthermore, taking any one individual as an example or representation of an entire group will always result in abundant inaccuracies and heated debates.

YES. THIS. I think the described problem of "how to get more black people in games" is warped by the assumptions and perspectives we as individuals have based on our real world experiences.

This might be a stupid or obvious question, but why does Japan often reveal/announce things like this in magazines? In contrast, it seems like the US rarely sees gaming news first revealed in print.

Did Kotaku reach out to Sony to ask what this was about? Or are we assuming they'll just talk about it tonight? Hopefully I'll get an e-mail by then...

I would have liked an interview from his fiancee... But hey, maybe it's not really about his future spouse. We all grow up in different ways and for different reasons. My safe driving bonus from Allstate made me feel pretty grown-up today. Though, I'll probably spend it on a game....
