It’s been 5 years since I played. But something I did enjoy about Ardyn’s portrayal was how his omnipotence was revealed. An escalation of his powers, to the point where it became a sort of psychological horror, for a short while. The fact that you don’t even see him take over Niflheim I found effective because there’s

Always gotta be concerned about adults trying so hard to be as edgy as a 14 year old.

“...Actually, it’s pronounced “mill-e-wah-que” which is Algonquin for “the good land.”

That looks like hell. Especially because, if you’re there, you’re also subjected to the Yodobashi Camera theme over and over.
My heart goes out to the employees.

Will maybe continue where I left off last year in Dragon Quest 11 S. I was almost finished (I think) but then got distracted by Paradise Killer and Hades in November, then right before Christmas purchased Ni No Kuni.

But! Then I remembered I can’t be quite as close to the final boss in DQ as I realised because

It took me a while to get into because the interim years got me used to modern conveniences, and also I’d sort of set the Shenmue series on a pedestal in the time I hadn’t played them.
So it was initially jarring, and I was wondering what it was exactly about the old ones that made me like them over the new one. But

Hmm, I wonder. If I can get along just fine with Shenmue 3 in spite of it retaining the limitations of a game at least 20 years old, will I enjoy these? Or, was my fondness for Shenmue upon their release really what allowed me to appreciate 3?

Ah! There’s the original tweet. I posted just the image that was sent to me today.

Big “Nightmare Creatures” vibes!

It’s arguable that the linearity was kinda cheap (especially without the extra character episodes when I played it) but I have to admit, it was a powerful way to change the tone of the story and it affected my emotions accordingly.

That’s true, it sends a message. If the claims aren’t valid, though, I’d have spiced the numbers up a bit more. Not too much but more than one.

It’s a buttonless peacoat?? I have a peacoat that’s already too big for me (Mr X size) I don’t need this.

My parents have had a mixed reaction to video games over the years.

Alleged crackdown of one (1) is not something to boast about, is it.

I remember the sounds in RE7 being similar. Random bumps, footsteps and distant clatters that REALLY made it sound like something was looking for you. I don’t know how long it took before I realised it was just part of the sound design.

I KNEW it! He was Ethan all along!

I won’t spoil anything, so here are my thoughts:

I’d like to go back to this game eventually. I finished the main story back in December 2016, back when there was that dreaded Chapter....13 was it? Whatever it was, it was awful. Apparently the game changed a bit after that, and added extra stories if I remember

Coincidentally just saw this elsewhere. I’m glad there are skilled people out there putting the time and energy into this for the sake of it.

You all like her now, but when she eventually turns into a toothy vagina insect thing, about 20% of you will be turned off.
