I agree with this. The main meat of the franchise for me is “is it atmospheric and fun?” and RE7 did that very well. Second to that, and fairly low down, is “does this fit well or seem consistent in the meta-narrative of the franchise?” and lastly, nowhere to be found on the scale; “is any of this realistically

Good on em! I don’t mind the whole generic tribal, mask wearing archetype so long as it’s not evocative of historically racist depictions.

I remember thinking it ridiculous in 1984 when it’s shown that Big Brother has erased racist caricatures from video games.

Could’ve sworn I posted this in a different story, but ah well.

I hope this one is real.

I don’t know if this one is real but I hope it is.

Your Movie Sucks was the book that got me into Ebert because of how fun it was to read his negative reviews.

I don’t wanna add more to further spoil things!

Haha, I see how my text came across. I have literally finished the game and only remembered through the false assumption that I hadn’t.
I like your interpretation better though.

Sorry to hear it! The game is great anyway and it’s definitely more about the “how” than the “what” with that one.

Spoilers galore for the folks who haven’t played some of those very good games!
I saw Yaldabaoth and thought “shit! I haven’t beaten P5 yet” and then realised in admitting that, that I have. Weird.

My mistake, I explained in another post where my confusion came from.

Oh! Thanks for the heads up, I looked this up too but dunno how I missed the bit that actually showed him as CG.

I was corrected once before, hence my mistake . CG was explained to me as “Computer Generated” but not necessarily “computer generated 3D” so drawn on the computer but not 3D models etc, so that’s where my

Some did that I knew of, but were quickly told it wasn’t a good term to use. Nowadays everyone I know just uses “nerd”, “geek” etc.

Not bullshitting you, I have heard it more as a pejorative than as a positive term. I guess because most people I know who are into anime etc. just call themselves nerds.

I’m aware the initial definition of otaku was/is one of obsessive fandom/ interest. I’m going by the common negative connotation of otaku since the 80s, made infamous by Tsutomu Miyazaki, “the Otaku Murderer”. But also Shinji Aoba and now Fukuta Kishimoto.
There was also that hikikomori who stabbed those girls at a

I tend to associate the term otaku with mentally-unwell obsessive types.

There’s nothing here to suggest it’s 3D, which is reassuring. 3D anime is a big “bleurgh!” from me.
If their Boro the Caterpillar is anything to go by, it’ll look great.

Fuckin otaku, man.

They LOOK nice. But functionally it just looks awkward because they’ve kept the proportions of the original console and just shrunk it down so you have to use that silly magnifying glass thing from the get go. That Gameboy Micro comparison shows how good they could’ve made the screen.

I also remember not liking the
