Come on Io9ers, surely we can come up with some better clown movie titles. Hell, just “The Clowns” is a scarier title than Clowntergeist. Clowntergeist sounds like a German word that may be bad but actually just means “brother-in-law” or something else non-threatening.

Or film Cable and Deadpool just sitting in a cafe discussing his entire backstory, in one three-hour long scene, the whole thing, all improvised to save budget, and release that as part of a five-hour long Extended Edition.

I think it’s because of cases where it “works,” like Jurassic World, as in an indie director directs a big movie but they don’t really interject their voice/style into it. Totally not my theory, so I’ll give credit to The Watch podcast, but they noticed a couple of indie directors (like Trevorrow) getting these huge…

If you don’t like it, fine. Don’t watch. But don’t pretend people are abandoning it wholesale and it is in trouble. It is still doing huge numbers for non-network, basic cable. Even with a small dip last season.
