It is interesting that he mentions Star Trek Into Darkness as an example of a time he was frustrated because he went in without a lot of control over the story. It sounds like Force Awakens was very different.

I will never forget that line (the original version). I can’t believe he was only paid $75,000 for his performance.

I can’t imagine that this isn’t going to turn into at least a book, if not a movie.

And I guarantee you that any new fans created by NuTrek are lukewarm, at best, and will be very, very unlikely to subscribe to CBS All Access and keep up with a weekly series.

NO. NuTrek absolutely, positively did not do what TNG did. It tried to, but absolutely failed miserably in any comparison to TNG.

No, they weren’t. Most of them were fantastic. And I’m someone who generally prefers Star Trek’s native habitat of a weekly episodic series.

No, no he hasn’t. I don’t know what you’re watching.

You really don’t know what your talking about. The Original Series movies were fantastic. The TNG movies, other than the last one, were quite good. TNG & DS9 were fantastic, for the most part. NuTrek was OK, but had major problems throughout.

Nemesis was the worst Star Trek movie ever. Insurrection was far from the best, but I kind of liked it.

There were some rocky years on Enterprise and Voyager, but that doesn’t somehow mean that what was needed was to throw away everything, and start over with a dysfunctional crew with the names of the Original Series characters.

Hey, the books were pretty good!

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all, Empire is massively over-rated, and the fact that the scriptwriter of The Force Awakens brought us Empire is not really good news. J.J’s previous direction has been decent, I guess, but nothing really to write home about. (I’m a massive Star Trek fan, but the movies were mostly a disappointment)

Yes! He looked scared. This is the guy that was completely nonchalant when he got kidnapped and tested by Ward, but he looked terrified when he was running from the store.

Wow. That was fucking awesome.

You might not see it at every fucking corner, but it sees you at every fucking corner.

Star Trek: the TV Show

Oh hells yeah, that was one of my favorite things in any episode of any season of this any show.

Cabin in the Woods might be a little better, but it’s Joss Whedon, come on. The Final Girls was awesome.

This movie makes the case not to judge a director by his first movie. He did a great job with The Final Girls
