Easy. Guessed it was San Fran from the last pic and googled "brick circles in sf streets," which was autocompleted for me so I guess its an oft asked question. First link: http://allcitysf.com/2011/03/what-are-those-brick-circles-in-sf-streets/. Explains that they are outlines of cisterns, supplemental high-pressure

FYI, Joshua was Moses' replacement who led the Israelites into the Promised Land after Moses died. They are based on the same root, but different names, and definitely different people. Interesting linking the two together though...

The Strain by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan is a trilogy of vampire books. But the vampires in question are fairly zombie like. Victims are infected with parasites, which kill the victim and replace blood and organs with new structures, creating undead blood suckers.

I'm confused... You said that in order to compensate for the loss of angular momentum, Earth "sped up" it's rotation. How exactly does Earth go about doing this? And on it's own accord, mind you.

I'm too awesome to use this...

i am a student (though not for architecture...) which means i don't make money, so i have none to save...

i'm pretty sure the hiring of an architect would drain my funds enough that i wouldn't be able to pay for a project itself...

NO FRIGGIN' WAY!!!

yes... there was just a glitch in the Matrix...

I think you do have this problem, you are just looking at it differently. Try buying shirts that fit your arms, even though they are too big in the torso. Then fix it like the article says.

I'm glad I'm not alone...

I understand the difference between "piracy" and "sharing." My argument was that I think all information and art should be free and widely available in an effort to create even more information and art. If it is all free, there is no need to "pirate" anything. It would all be shared.

I believe the use of the word "pirating" gives information sharing a bad connotation. I think information sharing is perfectly alright.

"The problem is that these splogs are so low quality—full of such nonsense—that they really don't belong in any search results, ever."

@ShakespeareGeek: Those were great speeches. I love his books, but I have so much respect for him after hearing him lecture. So many good points.
