Lotta people in queer communities do indeed think that way. They think of queerness as a competition instead of a state of being. It stinks.

It’s a big get for the LGBTQIA+ community.

You know, something really troubling is how so many people have used Palestine as an excuse to fully pull off their masks and allow their antisemitism breathe right out in the open.

I don’t know what people expect from her. You really thought she was going to say “Death to Israel” or something? The left has lost the plot on this and is careening toward antisemitism, especially with Gadot since she takes a lot of shit for being the most famous Israeli in the world at the moment.

Are you kidding with this article? Not once do you mention that it’s Hamas, a recognized terrorist organization launching rockets at Israeli civilians (into areas that are not even remotely disputed). Are you implying Israel is somehow wrong because they have the capacity to defend itself against these rockets, taking

Forgive my faulty memory but didnt the Democrat Party fight against counting overseas military votes in the Bush Gore fiasco? Or do only Democrat votes count?

Could someone explain to me how them shutting down access to their MP games for two hours help this cause?

This is a massive cop-out response. This isn’t “some subset of his followers became brutal authoritarian regimes”, it's Every government influenced by these ideas becomes a brutal authoritarian regime”. At some point you gotta ask why brutal authoritarias are so drawn to his ideas. Maybe, just maybe, it's because

That’s a fair rejoinder.

Well, as a Chilean let me tell you that as long as we had Pinochet we had economic growth, and narco traffic and terrorism were kept to a minimum. He even called an election when he was in charge, which doesn’t usually happen during a dictatorship.

There’s a pretty darn solid argument to be made that the writing and influence of Marx has led to more suffering and destruction than the actions of any other individual in history so, you know, no thanks.

Nobody who has suffered under Communism, or you know, has read a history book, thinks Communism is a good thing. It’s just old burnt out hippies, dumb Millennials who think they’re oppressed, and actual violent revolutionaries who think Communism works. Ask the ghosts of 100 million people who died under its heel in

I’m in my mid 30s in Eastern Europe and having partly lived in what comes out of those “open minded” books you suggest, and having seen my family (both parents and grandparents) being the victim of oppression , secret police state, lack of basic resources and having their ownership destroyed for the “good of the

Good ole Lenin and his successor Stalin; the former starved millions and the latter upped the ante by starving hundreds of millions. Thanks, Communism!

Ah, yes Communism, it's only killed hundreds of millions of people

Also, would a game like Disco Elysium could had been made in a state that fully followed Marx and Engel’s ideas?

Thank you so much for this. I wanted to say something similar, but wouldn’t have been nearly as succinct and would have been way more snarky.

what? is kotaku advocating for communism? that’s very irresponsible of you

Meh. They were right about some things, but Marx’s ideas for a revolution have always been flawed. It will invariably lead to an oppressive police state, which others pointed out at the time (Bakunin, for one) and has been borne out by history.

Marx and Engels are hugely problematic, though.
