What a card!
I've always been confused about that. I know it's technically public indecency, but he's in a porn theatre for goodness sake. What do you expect him to do there, file his taxes?
I still remember this one kid I knew in high school bragging on the bus about being totally stoned out of her mind in class, which I still can't fathom (even more so after having smoked a bunch in the past), as school or work is the last place I'd want to be stoned.
I was disappointed when he didn't have much focus anymore after having an early episode mostly focused on him. His speech in that episode is what first made me think, "Wait, there is a lot more to this show than I first expected…"
that's the joke
Maybe Stevonnie's lingered jump was meant to tie into Steven's new floating power. They did make a point to highlight him using it earlier in the episode.
See, my major reservation with killing off a main character like that is, well, what would they do with the theme song, then?
How tsundere.
Maybe it could just literally be turned into Cloud's buster sword.
We do technically already have some RPG mechanics in place with Attack the Light…or probably you mean more a pen and paper RPG.
I'm just waiting for one of them to use the Super Peel-Out one of these days.
Steven Universe: The first children's show to discuss the ethics of necrophilia.
Amethyst has demonstrated in the past a willingness to make people uncomfortable by shapeshifting into, shall we say, a familiar form in order to get what she wants. I still have scars over "Maximum Capacity".
I was just thinking last week that we haven't seen enough Amethyst in the spotlight in a while. Lo and behold, here we are. Hope this trend continues.
The use of the phrase "wave of corruptions" just makes me think of the Pixies song "Wave of Mutilation".
He's an adult with very adult things to worry about.
It looks to me like she's a middle-aged man wearing a wifebeater in that outfit, or just like she couldn't bother to get dressed this morning and put on the first thing she saw. Which, I suppose, is fitting for her.
I do like her attitude in most cases, though I did feel like this episode laid it on a bit thick by the end of the montage, almost like a cliche "hero being led astray" story. It ended up pulling off the rest of the episode super well, and I liked how all that ended up informing the impact Jasper's attack had on…
Now I'm imagining a sunken pirate ship with a treasure chest full of poofed Gems. And suddenly, the idea of pirates in the world of Steven Universe just got so much more horrifying…
