It was certainly the first time onscreen her intensity seemed to translate less into stoicism and coolness and more into excitement and boundless enthusiasm. I mean, unless we count brief moments in "Garnet's Universe", but that was Steven's fanfic so I don't think we should count that.

Surely Passions Of Xanxor will do for that purpose?

I love how Vidalia basically took my exact thought there and put it into words. We need more snarky Vidalia so that she can make the jokes before I do.

It's definitely a very Universe joke, if the last episode's Greg/Steven humor is at all representative of that.

That Jetsons reference caught me completely off guard, never would have expected such an obvious reference in the dialogue. Still found it amusing though, and it's certainly refreshing to see a reference to something that isn't anime once in a while.

Considering the idea that the Crystal Gems were apparently revered as gods until they basically told humanity to bugger off and leave them alone, I imagine she might have had more than a few religious followers.

He gets it from his mom.

Seems to me more like she was talking about Gem culture in general. She and the other Crystal Gems realized how much more there is to their lives than fulfilling a singular purpose, likely after observing humans and seeing their ability to change, adapt, and develop into almost totally new people from who they were

I'm a bit upset we didn't get to see a young Mr. Smiley, back before he ended up owning the park and was hot off his first big R&B hit, going, "Glad that's not my problem" as he sees the destruction of the ferris wheel. On the nose? Maybe. Hilarious? To me, probably.

I feel like her fascination with humans was more of a playfully scientific nature than anything, akin to someone observing animals in the wild.

I instantly picture Jim every time I see a Brian Posehn voice role. That character just so perfectly seemed to embody his voice.

I more wish I made the obvious John Coltrane reference by saying Giant Steps or something, but that wouldn't have really worked here.

I mean. I had no major issue with it, I thought it was a hilarious bit of zany fun. And Pearl slowly going mad is always a highlight of any episode, canon or not.

I never knew how much I needed that blog until I read through the whole thing just now.

Those are all wonderful (and the first two made me hungry). That last one tho, I was not prepared for the boulder joke.

And it even has Blooky in it!! <3

I mean, I'm also of the opinion that it can apply to basically any character pair, but I just never considered Lapis in it until now.

I now desire a comic in which Undyne and Jasper interact in some way.

Her "Tell me I'm wrong!" line to Steven certainly seemed like she wanted her low self-image and regrets to be validated.

This is why I try not to even look up the titles of upcoming episodes, because I don't want to even spoil myself by trying to piece things together (which my mind would naturally attempt to do).
