The hardest thing to explain to any butthurt internet user is the application of the 1st Amendment. It only protects you from censorship from one entity: the Government.

As a USAF base education and training manager I make a point of telling my troops to never ever get involved with any for profit school. Even semi-reputable ones like Phoenix and American Military University are in it for the federal dollars, not the benefit of the student. They set their rates just at or slightly…
Good. May it rot.
For-profit schools charge tens of thousands of dollars a semester; state universities charge thousands of dimes a semester. Not the same thing at all.
I embarrassingly enough went to ITT Tech until my second semester. Unfortunately for me I am the first person in my family to attend college in the US. The US educational system being the clusterf**k it is, I just didn’t know any better. Everything seemed legitimate and that was perhaps the counselors being trained…
For-profit colleges rarely achieve the same accreditation that State Universities do. Accreditation is the bread and butter of higher education: without accreditation, we’d have more ITTs and less Clemsons.
No, it doesn’t. Corporate malfeasance is a daily occurrence. Business theft with the customers and employees as victims is as well. Disregard for safety also.
This is great news. I was suckered into the school and ever since leaving my first campus none of my credits are transferable to any other school. That includes other ITT in my current residence. So basically, this school can claim to be accredited when in reality they are only accredited to their own respective…
I feel bad for people who get taken in by for-profit schools. Those schools are mainly selling hope for a better future to uneducated people, usually people who don’t have the best research or critical thinking skills. It’s predatory as hell so even though it’s easy to feel like they should have known better, not…
Counterpoint: A lot of these schools send recruiters to shelters and places where people are homeless or don’t have access to resources to do research. And they tell them they can get a degree with government loans they won’t have to pay until they graduate...failing to mention that their degree may not be worth shit…
In don’t know, STEM doesn’t have seemed to help you with your critical thinking skills and getting rid of liberal arts degrees. Anyone who thinks this doesn’t grasp the concept of the importance of a wide variety of degree options and how it enhances our society. Do liberal arts majors make less money? Sometimes. But…
Seems kinda counter-intuitive to the whole pursuit of higher learning in academia and scholarly pursuits if you just want to axe it all down to bare-minimum applicability...
And yet, its namesake still speaks of it glowingly. There’s a less than zero chance that, if elected, his Dept of Ed will continue these crackdowns on for-profits.
It became the “Trump Entrepreneur Initiative” and aspects of it are still in operation.
