I know you typically don’t have access to a torque wrench on the side of the road, but if you are going to tackle any job beyond oil changes, you really should have a torque wrench. Grab one on the cheap from Harbor Freight and get some peace…

Lighten up, Francis. This is one of the easiest jobs you can do on most cars. Hell, you can swap in some new rotors in seconds on most cars as part of this job, and essentially have factory new braking when you are done. Maybe even better than factory new depending on which parts you select.

My car is going back. I’m looking at nearly 24k for my JSW 2011 model. I paid right at 30k. So in the end, I will have had a new car (that I really liked) that cost me only 6k to use for near 6 years.
