Exactly, it's not like knowing your mother is crazy from a young age causes psychological problems!

@Aertea: "It all has an impact on the way people live their lives." Agreed—the distinction just needs to start being made that no matter what has an impact on or influences you, the bottom line is the only person who can control your actions is you—positive or negative. Killzone 3 won't make anyone a murderer any more

@Walking Eye: Agreed, though it's nice to see someone making the case that video games are also positive escapism.

Great post! Me, I've never really lied about video game achievements—mostly because it's too easy to get caught. I have too many gamer friends (many of whom are industry members) that know what they're talking about to be able to get away with bullshitting. Instead of boasting, I find it's easier and sometimes better

I'm so sick of the content here only revolving around the sexual needs of heterosexual adolescent males. I really am. This site is such a fucking joke.

Obsessing over a Japanese chick, written by Brian Ashcraft, big fucking surprise.

@grendell: No shit. I actually have a condition that closely mirrors MS, but I rarely show outward signs (and I'm also young-ish). At times I need muscle relaxers to help with the intense stiffness in my joints. Nice to know I was right in thinking I was being judged at the counter as being a scammer! It was pretty

@pitseleh0: Favorite because it's a little ridiculous: Dance Central has an achievement you can get just by having two people in the frame when a picture is snapped. Woo!

@Shinta: I agree with your sentiments on Riddick. I personally love the series (because I started with Pitch Black, ha) but the idea of Riddick as a lone bad ass is part of the appeal. Doesn't mesh with the concept of multiplayer well, imo. At least, I know I'm pretty antisocial, and Riddick's status as a one man

I find this much more interesting and worthy of post than say, boasting how you no longer find game soundtracks valid or worth listening to.

@Y-bot: Bravo. If your looks are your best asset and what you want people to focus on, be a model. She spends much more time half naked in magazines than she does playing games or doing "geeky" things. I don't know why she's considered a geek at all. Probably because she can't model on the merit of her looks alone,

@Bathtub Toaster: I don't think you understand the definition of the word objectification. What Playboy does is exactly objectification—putting a person on display as a set of appealing body parts meant for your sexual pleasure? Yeah, objectification. The pages of Playboy don't exactly humanize women, they set them up

Rise of the nerd princesses? You mean legions of attractive women who have found that manipulating the ideals of nerds is a great way to start a career?

@SuddenImpact: A child cannot have consensual sex, period. It is not consensual if they're not of the age to make a conscious ADULT decision for themselves.

This post reminds me of when I was in high school and we'd find out our music or arts funding had been cut again. I don't think ignoring the works of very talented individuals and categorizing them as "in that camp of video game non-essential personnel" is something to wax poetic about. How disrespectful to all that

@CartBlanche2: Whoever said it, called it. You are a hame player. Many Americans actually find it very tacky to make generalizations and stereotypes, while we watch the rest of the world do it to us all the time. We fight racism and applaud human rights and face enormous flack for it, then watch the world have race

@killakoopa: Yes, and thank you for feeding him. Move along, yourself. That comment wouldn't have even showed up had you not responded to it.

@Capt. Lavender: You know how bat shit crazy YOU are to take an example of one group's behavior and judge all of us on that basis?

    I'd prefer this
