Gotta be a typo.
Gotta be a typo.
I think you’re right about the technical implications of these modifications, but not the moral implications. And to be fair, I’m usually on board the Hennessey hate train. But we have to be realistic about the use-case for these vehicles. They don’t need to survive as a daily driver. None of these things are ever…
Yeah, that’s what I’m wondering. Like is there some new injection tricks or engine management software that might be useful in both a road and prototype racing application?
While you are right on both accounts, it doesn’t apply to my original comment. I was talking about LMP, not GT. And I said “outdated notion”, to suggest that these synergies used to exist, but that the current state of engineering has reached a point where there will not be any synergy between a LMP car and a road…
That’s easy to believe. GT cars are pretty similar to road cars, but LMP cars are a world away.
LS V8
I find it hard to believe that there is really any synergy between this racing engine and the production boxer engine going into the 718. It seems like an outdated notion that there even should be any relation between a purpose built race car engine and a production car engine.
That was how I read it too. Two transmissions in series, a CVT then a 4 spd.
Although I don’t know what the difference is between CVT and e-CVT.
It sounds a lot like a conventional V8 with a cross-plane crank shaft. I’m wondering... Does the crankshaft in the W8 have the same basic arrangement as in a V8?
Got to drive a Ferrari F40 onto a trailer somewhat recently. Holy hell, I was not expecting the raucous clamor exploding behind my head when I pressed the start button.
Lot of engineers coming out of the woodwork to explain what an isometric view is lol
Right. I came here to say this. The top view is off-putting because it’s not in perspective. Looks natural to people who spend a lot of time in 3D CAD.
They’re like puppies.
“retains the porsche transmission in the rear.”
My dad had one of those! IT was crazy how light it was! When I was a teenager my dad and I could lift the back end up to waste height by hand!
NYers never follow the last rule. While deplaning they will always try to cut off people in rows ahead of them.
Slurm Loco is the extremiest.
Dear Honda,
