The NFL is getting exposed and so is the United States, not surprising because both systems are flawed and run by morons.
for what it’s worth “the helmet contact was incidental” doesn’t make it a legal hit.
I pretty much lost interest in pro football this year. I no longer set my Sundays (or Monday nights or Thursday nights) by it. It’s too much - oversaturation of games, the laughable system of fines/punishments which seem to be made up on the fly, and the hypocrisy of the owners/commissioner talking about player safety…
Look at the latest polling on Moore/Jones. Alabama is a joke.
I completely agree that Gronk was worse, but this was also really bad. For me, it was more that we got both of these cases in two days than which one was worse.
Juju’s hit was dirty as hell, and the taunting was childish - though it couldn’t have happened to a more deserving guy - but Gronk’s infraction came well after the play. IMO the hit on Brown’s touchdown was worse because Burfict wasn’t defenseless.
There was a moment when the commentary flat out stated that they did not know what it now took to get ejected from the game which hit on such a truth to me.
Tonight’s Steelers-Bengals game was brutal—football that can charitably be described as “old-school” and accurately,…
My observations are 100% anecdotal and limited in scope, but yeah I feel like it started going downhill in the early 2000s.
Yes! If you have to choose between grammar and clarity, the choice is obvious.
“Or should all we just relax, stop pointing out people’s errors and let language evolve, irregardless of what we learned in school?”
I am a college professor, and it seems as though I spend more time teaching grammar and writing skills than the actual content of my courses. I got into this profession because I really enjoyed helping students think through complex ideas, but now, much of my time is spent explaining things like subject-verb…
This alone is almost reason enough to promote learning a second language. I would say that most of the English grammar I learned came from learning Spanish. In part, because to learn a second language not as a native tongue you need to learn their grammar and thus are introduced to concepts you might have just picked…
In 1985, the National Council of Teachers of English, an organization that certainly did not foresee a future of…
Surprised they even finished the job!
Shirk informed me the finished product was less inflammatory than some of the ideas that were put on the table.
Wow really surprised of all people to take responsibility it would be the folks at Shirk Photography.
Utes today....
“The school mascots are selected by their honor and basically pride that it brings the school,” Shirk said. “If I was a Native American—I feel there was no disrespect intended. It was done to be a unique and fun poster.”
