I cannot work out on weekday mornings. Maybe if i could go to bed at 9pm then i could get up early enough, but thats not happening. I would have to get up around 5am.

Do the brute force methods work on sites that have limits on log in attempts before being locked out? Is there something built in to them that can bypass those lock outs?

@deanhatescoffee: thanks, it seemed to work, but is it pulling in everything, not just the inbox? Because I started seeing emails from way back when coming in. That could be a problem.

@zrag: Okay, so I was able to use the Import Mail feature in Gmail to get my Yahoo emails in, but will this continually pull my new mail? When setting up there was a check box about getting new mail for 30 days, but nothing about getting it forever.

@waddra: Is there a way to delete messages from these panes without going back to the label? I can check the boxes next to my Hotmail messages, but clicking the main Gmail Delete button doesnt delete them. I have to actually go to the Hotmail label to delete these messages.

@waddra: Gotcha, thanks, was just able to do it with my Hotmail account. Apparently with Yahoo I have to have a premium account to be able to forward.

I like the multiple panes. Question: Is it possible to setup my old email accounts in these panes? So, for example, can I have my Yahoo and Hotmail accounts forward to gmail with their own panes?

@Phoshi: So if I just type the first 8 characters of my password it should log me in? It doesnt seem to be working for me. In fact, I tried a couple of times and my account got locked out...

Anyone else have large web companies disabling their accounts because of the Gawker breach?? So far my Amazon and LinkedIn accounts have been disabled because I was on the list. Enabling is easy, but it makes me realize how many accounts I have out there that i havent even considered changing.

@Phoshi: Am I missing something? I was able to set my password to 9 characters in length, letters and numbers.

@markoi: Yup, I received this one as well. And they actually did a really good job in making it look legit. Guaranteed some people will fall for this one.

@hahn: Thats exactly what it is too. I was really pissed when I was first reading the Peasant comment, and still am not thrilled, but the reality is most of us have made comments like that about the people we serve every day, we just didnt get called out on it like this. Still, it stings a little. One cant help but

@Adam Pash: Adam, you are one I would include the 'I hope things work out well for', because I have enjoyed your posts. In fact i would put most of LH in that category.

@zrag: That said, I do feel for the editors whose posts I have really enjoyed reading over the years. I do hope this works out well for those deserving that ending. Richard Lawson not included.

As all the info surrounding the back story has slowly become available, i have slowly become more pissed. The suspicious activity starting in November, then the failure to immediately own up to what actually happened, right down to some of the comments (ie. the "peasants" comment) in the screen grabs off your

@sao13: Well, I think a lot of the frustration stems from some of the behind the scenes conversations that have cropped up on the web, like their campfire sessions (assuming they are legit, which i am leaning towards believing). Goading users to hack the site, and ignoring possible security compromises from November.

@Haneyg: All I can say is change your scenery. Dont listen to people who say its risky to quit your job in these times, blah blah blah. But do check the job market wherever you end up heading to make sure its not totally flat. But odds are if you're going somewhere its going to be to a 'cool' place, which usually

@Fizzter: Exactly. They would really have to offer something extremely compelling to get people to switch. Its a real tough sell. And getting a hundred or more friends to switch is going to be, dare I say, seemingly impossible? If they could create some sort of gadget that exports a users entire FB account and

They dont own the diaspora.com domain? That would be a big issue to me. I'm not going to attempt to start something huge based on a name that I do not own the domain for.

@edosan: shit, i live here and I wont come close to any of this. Now I feel like the $10 I give the girl to cut my hair every month is too little.
