Wow, I didn’t remember that.

I found this to be one of the lesser episodes of Ted Lasso. I just could not see the value of introducing yet another new character with Jack. I also thought the scenario that the team would fall apart as they did after the video was shown really a stretch. Where was Zava, the sign would meant to him almost nothing

Also I admire the producers of Mason for their verisimilitude but they got that lesbian bar wrong historically. (So does Ryan Murphy... always) But they did borrow from the early 50's. There was a bar owned by a fine singer, Beverly Shaw called Club Laurel that she would sing at. And it was upscale to a degree.

Extremely tight episode and loved how complex the storylines became without ever losing the threads. Again the cinematography in this show is almost without peer, but damn the lighting in the jail with the bars shadowing the Gallardos, or the long shot of Mason in his kitchen, diffused light streaming through the

Once again this show excels at making some pretty despicable people be fascinating to watch. But Roman is the one most intriguing this season. He can’t summon the same appetite in destroying his Dad as Kendall and Shiv. Conjointly he knows what his father is capable of doing and has been on the short end of his

There have been two movies about Capote, Robert Morse starred in a one man show called “Tru” that ran on Broadway then toured the nation which definitely addresses his betrayal to NYC socialites, a great number of articles in national magazines ranging from his Black & White Ball in DC to Joanna Carson writing about

Fine review Matt. You picked up the lines “You know what I like most about this town? No one tells you what was, only what can be” and extrapolated it to the fine overall observation that was turn of the century Los Angeles (San Francisco actually has a past....)

I thin it very much is an artistic decision and I roll with the production on their choice(s). It would be like adjusting PERRY MASON’s desaturated tones to having more contrast. There’s artistic reasons in doing so bringing time and place together. One thing AV Club does seem to agree on, that MASON is by far one of

With SUCCESSION back, I have gotten the same enthusiasm back I had when a new season of MAD MEN, SOPRANOS and the woefully short DEADWOOD. But I forgot until tonight the language of filming SUCCESSION uses. The zoom cuts to characters faces, the camera pivoting left to right and back between conversations, the near

Skim the reviews but stay to comment. Always interesting to hear from someone fresh to any show.

All I kept thinking about was the Eagle-Cam at Big Bear and those eagles just trying to protect their brood from the unprecedented snow fall these past weeks in California trying to survive

Well if the book had all this chicanery and sexy time stuff I might have actually read it in 10th grade rather than just the Cliff Notes and bullshitting my way through the two essays.

But maybe I’m selling this episode short”

Great casting with Paul Raci as Lydell, he walks the edge of a mustache twirling villain and a truly terrifying individual. The way he walks toward his antagonists to get in their face mid-dialogue is very effective. This is the guy in Sound of Metal, right?

I’m going to hold off addressing the 150 million dollar budget until I see the plans for the kitchen

I was more offended by the mongrelization of a Carpenter’s song.

You know, I stun myself at times when I find an old post!

Last Waltz, Gimme Shelter

Arguably this has to be in the top 3 greatest concert films of all time.

Not even the patented “Gentleman’s F” from AV Club?
