There are times when an episode of SUCCESSION really allows one of the supporting actors to shine.  Mathew Macfadyen  was absolutely terrific tonight.  Scene after scene his malaise rippling across his face, his eyes watering almost as if to break in tears.    Just remarkable delivery,  the diner scene most

I dunno about you guys, but I think Pete Davidson making some important decisions in his life (many hinted about) including moving out of Mom’s basement that he owns has made a huge improvement in his sketches. Even dating (the) Kardashian has likely led to a spike in available footwear.

That whole Atlantic coast feast of steamers, lobster claws and shrimp louie pasta salad with fresh mint in water.......and the stunning isolated and private view, being rich doesn’t entirely suck does it?

Now you see I saw it as forward, nevertheless timeless and exuding absolute class with a take-no-prisoners undertone. Which is why in spite of some of her poor power plays, she I like of all the Roys.

“DOJ is going to be like a combine harvester in a wheat field of dicks.”

Both have lived long lives and frankly have likely signed tens of thousands of pieces.

As intense and claustrophobic as this episode got, discussing a corporate overthrow involving so much wealth and manipulation set in the daughter’s room with LED lights strung for decoration and young girl aesthetics everywhere was such an inspired set choice—most especially highlighting Shiv’s lack of experience

led to some smirky skepticism about “mix-and-match” medications. It’s not a shitty joke because it’s lazy, it’s a shitty (and irresponsible) joke because it’s based on a hacky premise.

Well, do you have enough seating for the rest of us.

I can hardly wait to watch this on my phone as Villeneuve intended!

This is like the original Alien Jesus image on toasted white bread.

I was just so goddamn glad this show is back I did not hit “skip” on the intro and instead let that glorious theme wash over me.

I was referencing Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

So I take it Segel’s career as a puppeteer didn’t quite pan out?

Well I don’t know about you guys but I can finally get a night’s rest knowing that Johansson and Jost won’t be going without.

Indeed that was her in Sense & Sensibility.  Based on her appearance in that film and Ted Lasso, one could make the argument she is all but ageless!

I don’t understand how one can rightly applaud Waddingham without mentioning Harriet Walter (niece of Christopher Lee!) as her mother. The two of them made this episode, their scenes even stronger than Lasso and Sharon irrespective of how great Sudeikis was.

Yep. This was a stumble. Not terrible but a stumble. It seemed too many ideas were thrown at the wall borrowing from After Hours”and “Eyes Wide Shut” and then decided to double down in hopes of amping the absurdity. Unfortunately leaving behind much of the wit.

I am able to maintain my faith in humankind, even considering the last 4.5 years, whenever I read yet another heartfelt appreciation of Tom Hanks.

As far as the art of trailer direction, editing and scoring, this was top notch. A balls out action sci-fi thriller scored to Jefferson Airplane but it unspooled with such ....................”elegance”. It held off the soundscapes of the previous Matrixes only to the very end.
