Why is it that Fiat, a company that probably makes no money in the US, can bring low-volume cars to the US but Honda can’t bring the E. Or BMW the 3-series wagon. Both of which would outsell the 500e.

When I was a kid in the late 80s and early 90s, we had ideas for what “cars of the future” looks like, and this is it (remember the cartoon C.O.P.S.?). Late 90s and early 00s had some of the worst vehicle designs ever, so it’s finally now in the 2020s that cars actually look “futuristic”.

Feels like this is the stop-gap between now and the 2035 emissions requirements that a large portion of the word is adopting. 

Admittedly, the Prettiest Prius ever is a very low bar, but yeah, I actually dig the looks of this thing.

The only people that would buy this would be actual museums. But they wouldn’t, because it’s got way too much usage, and isn’t actually museum quality. Props to the owner for the meticulous care, but that doesn’t translate into selling it for half what it went for new.

This shit is such an apt metaphor for current day tech companies. Take two perfectly functional things (fucking GLASSES AND BOTTLES NO LESS), make them substantially less functional but they require you to use some nonsense other thing that only works with these glasses and bottles so that customers have to rebuy…

The whole movie has a wonderfully goofy tone and Hugo Weaving singlehandedly works his ass off to help make that a fun movie. Plus it gave us Peggy! The ridiculously fun goofy tone encases that entite film and makes it criminally underrated.
