SAR people’s job description is not to do crazy shit including jumping into gator infested water. I guarantee you that if there were gators spotted swimming around the area no one including SAR people would have gone into the pool.

Yep. And that just doesn’t happen in Florida but it happens in other states as well. Police will often find other cars in a pond/lake/canal that they weren’t even looking for while searching for another car.
