Since when is “establishment” a bad thing? She was the spouse of the leader of the free world before becoming the Secretary Of State of the most powerful state on Earth, he’s been in congress for a thousand years. They are both establishment and that is part of their qualifications for the job. They aren’t from the

Nerdy answer —I think the right to an abortion is more fertile ground for a challenge jurisprudentially than the first amendment, because there are limits to first amendment rights when providing services for money in the public sphere.

I’ve been thinking about the same recently, in terms of moving! I’ve grown up in Mass (where I was able to easily access an abortion when I needed it) but my partner and I have entertained the idea of trying somewhere new. Every day it feels like there are fewer and fewer places we could go where I would have

I imagine if you type in ‘Michael Bay’ to any field it just returns with this:

And Emma Thompson:

An abolootionist sounds like someone I’d hire for my daughter’s birthday party and ultimately regret.

There’s a spinning/yoga studio near where I run a weekly errand (on my bike) and I always hear the instructor screaming at everyone with music blasting. That environment is so terrible to me... I like my quiet time when biking....

kept yelling about how she was so sure this was going to change all our lives

Did she say “we are always moving forward!!!!!” because mine did and I was like “uh, except we are not?”

That’s always been my thing about spin classes: endless riding and you’re still on your stationary bike. I’d rather hop on my bike and get outside, and save the gym for stuff I can’t do otherwise.

As a coach, I’ve had a referee wag his finger at me when I questioned a call—they never do that to the male coaches. That one makes my blood boil—you’re not

Assertive crosses the line into agressive when they realize 1) they disagree or don’t want to do what you’re saying and 2) you have a vagina.

I understand it as being passive vs active. Assertive means that you will stand up for yourself, but will not go after what you want. Aggressive is going after what you want.

It’s actually Oak Bluffs. Which is what WASPs call the Inkwell.

definitely NOT an Aidan.

Yeah, I lived in Maine working on environmental policy and my husband worked for the state government. We left, somewhat coincidentally, after LePage was elected, and haven’t regretted it. My former coworker is in a position where he is a constant target of LePage’s unhinged attacks and I don’t know how he does it.
