How many players had or will have the longevity, the talent, the ability to giggle at their own foibles and briefly shed the tough-guy mask?

Also who could forget the ejection for moving the on-deck circle?

As a Rangers fan, he’s my favorite baseball player ever, which I didn’t expect to say when we signed him.

I can’t imagine it’s Austin. We’re still all kinds of fucked up from racist city planning nearly 100 years ago, and only voted out an at-large city council configuration in 2012.

Runner lenghts, diameters, plenum volume, Helmholtz frequencies... it’s all Greek to me, but I do like that my intake manifold looks like a facehugger from Alien.

I noticed this for the first time when replacing the steering box on an old Range Rover:

Curse this cold to hell. All I want is to go smell my car.

Mm now I want to smell some convertibles. This one first:

I’m not sure. Crayon smell has come up twice now. Once I’m over this cold I’ll pull the kick panel and sniff the fiber backing to see (or rather, smell).

I’m not sure. You’re one of two to mention crayon smell, but I don’t think it’s ever really struck me that way. I’ve got a cold right now so I think any attempt at a robust olfactory investigation would be a waste.

That’s only in the beat up old Range Rover, and you can’t smell it inside anymore because I bypassed the heater core :)

Interesting that you’ve traced it to the dashboard. I can’t make heads or tails of what it is in mine that smell so good.

I want to know what the source is!

Hot take: old car smell is better.

I may have a spare (working, nearly period-correct) KE83ZBM radio around. That, plus a hardwired bluetooth-to-fm transmitter would look right and give you the creature comforts you crave. (I just installed one of these a couple weeks ago and it sounds GREAT.)

Now even cars can blow better smoke rings than me.

Will be when I sort the bank 1 misfire! Right now it’s a finisher driveway ornament that sounds cool when I rev it.
