You’re right, it definitely doesn’t. But I think you may be giving Jalopnik too much credit for relying on that overall thrust rather than just taking one sentence to say “hey this is dangerous, and we don’t endorse it, and you should take it to a track.”
It does say “it was great” right there in the text. It wasn’t glowing coverage by any means, and reading it didn’t make me want to hop in my car and go get sideways around town, but the good folks writing here typically draw a clearer line in the sand. Heck, there’s a parenthetical disclosure for every car review.
