Agreed. Important to learn to assess the quality of any tools you’re contemplating buying to keep from overspending, but I’d argue it’s more important to make sure that the problem you’re solving is the one you bought the tool for (and not the one the tool is creating).

Totally depends on the rest of your gearing. An E30's Getrag 260 has a 5th gear ratio of 0.81:1, but with the factory 3.91 differentials, the motor spins at 3k on the highway, and 4k on the TX-130 tollway.

Awesome, I’ll swing by if I can. Mine started making a frightening rattle last week so I parked it. It happened right in the middle of a mild top-end rebuild on the Rover... I’ve gotta finish that ASAP to free up space (and have a usable car again).
