Geez, it was just a gentle suggestion, not an indictment of you or your opinion. I'm sorry if I came across as condescending; that certainly wasn't my intention. It doesn't matter if viewers read the books or not; I have many friends (and family) who are viewers only and we get along fine (and at least one of them

I would say that in this case it's a good author who can do this — Martin seems to specialize in making the reader feel empathy for characters who have done terrible things. I read somewhere that he has said that none of his characters are purely good or bad (I'm supposing that he meant his POV characters since it's

I'm not in love with the gore, but I certainly enjoyed having Sandor back — he got a lot of good lines. And I loved the "chicken" callback.

Book spoilers follow! I agree that Show!Jaime is currently not sounding like he cares about saving anyone but Cersei. So I like your idea that he could kill her to save her from a worse fate. And since the show has not used the rest of the prophecy, they could have her die differently than the prophecy states. Because

I don't think Jaime ever told anyone except Brienne, not even Cersei, the secret of why he killed Aerys. Everyone else just assumed that he was supporting a Lannister take-over of the capital — only Brienne was pure-thinking enough to really question how he could break his oath as a knight of the Kingsguard.

And they had Jaime drop a hint in his speech to Edmure about how far mothers are willing to go to save their children — "burn cities."

But Gendry isn't "rightful" — he's a bastard. Unless Robert wrote some document legitimating him somehow and that's what Qyburn has found. But I think the rumor has to do with wildfire. I think Cersei hopes to attack the sept. But I think she will inadvertently kill Tommen in the process of destroying the Faith

I wondered that too. Surely she could have ordered him to just knock them around a bit and not actually kill them. I was more surprised at how gutless the rest of the Faith were in that scene. They just stood there and watched him kill their comrade — they could have rushed him. It would have been interesting to see

We saw trial by combat at least three times: With Tyrion in the Vale, with Tyrion in King's Landing, and with The Hound and the Brotherhood without Banners. It's my understanding that it's something the nobility had instituted, but that the Faith never sanctioned it. Until the Faith Militant, they were somewhat

I encourage you to read the book with Arya's Braavos storyline and then decide how great the show storyline has been. It could have been so much more — and more obviously contribute to the bigger picture of where the overall story seems to be going.

I'm glad I'm not the only one speculating that Cersei will think of using wildfire to try to destroy the Faith Militant. But I also think that the rest of her prophecy is going to come true — perhaps she will use wildfire to burn the sept not knowing that Tommen is in there and inadvertently kill him? And/or Jaime

Reminded me of the ruby red slippers.

But we still have R+L=J! ;)

FrankenRottweiler, heh.

I wondered that too, but I think they made it pretty clear that Tully had no intention of slipping away. I thought the same thing of Stannis, but there was no reason for Brienne to have let him live. I just think this is a little game they play to tease us viewers a bit. Or to move things along — it takes time to have

Well, the actor, Clive Russell, is 70, so perhaps he didn't feel up to a battle. I was more upset that they killed him off at all than that they did it off screen. On the other hand, I wish they had shown Arya's fight with the Waif; we endured seeing Arya beaten up all season long, so it was about time to see the Waif

He deserved to slip out like the slippery Blackfish that he is as he did in the book — I don't know why they changed that. But I suppose it's like the lack of LSH; perhaps it wasn't meant to really go anywhere important in the story ultimately, so they left it out. There are a lot of things that they have cut or

Well, it made me laugh. I was annoyed at Tyrion for only giving a pity laugh to Missandei on her FIRST joke ever. It was much funnier than whatever sort of joke Grey Worm was trying to make. But their smiles and her laugh were priceless.
