Center-mount handbrake is gonna get interesting within the next few years. I see a legal challenge emerging if they don’t change it voluntarily. Effectively, if you don’t own a car with a center mount handbrake and can’t afford to rent/borrow one, you can’t take a driving test.

That’s what really blows my mind. It’s really disappointing to see people with a good, marketable idea ruin a chance at actual success because they wanted to PLAY success NOW. If they’d just worked hard on bringing that helmet to market, they might be successful legitimate businessmen by now.

I’m sorry, were you alive in 1776 to comment on whether or not the taxes were fair? All sarcasm aside, I’m actually fascinated to hear your logic on this because I’ve literally never heard somebody attribute the American Revolution to people “not wanting to pay their fair share of taxes”. Now, as a US citizen, this

Oh man, I can’t agree more. Gizmodo is dead. I’m fairly bummed about Jalopnik, but otherwise gawker media didn’t seem all that committed to quality journalism in the last 5 years or so.

Dear merciful god...

That is 100% fair, and 100% true. I definitely don’t mean to suggest that one should compress springs with reckless abandon. All I mean is that deep respect need not progress to the point of phobia, as there are safe ways to go about the process. As a side note, I can’t agree more about bikes. The second you start to

Nah man, I’ve used spring compressors many many times, and even let the top nut off a few strut assemblies without compressors (facing away of course). It depends on the car, but most of them are not the explosive death-bringers that we’re lead to believe they are. A quality set of compressors properly applied to the

Torch, thank you for saying something that desperately needed to be said. My daily has around 300hp, and even that can get frustrating on small, congested, city streets. Hop into my ‘84 Volvo, and suddenly I can rev out to nearly redline at any start or roll heavy into the throttle just to hear the motor sing, all

As a Miata.

I run a DIY electric bicycle off of relatively cheap backyard solar panels. If we can just get the cost of decent solar technology down, we can have our electric cake and eat it too.

Have you ever seen one in person? While I admit that the design appears bland in stock photos, it is far more nuanced, clean, and cohesive in the flesh.

I’m really curious as to how they’re coupling the three motors. Having the ICE capable of powering the wheels OR one of the two motors would require that all three units be able to decouple independently. Otherwise, the electric motor that’s doing double duty as a generator would always have to carry the burden of the

Can’t help but feel like that “XC90 Excellence” moniker is the Chinese ownership showing through a little bit. Especially considering that the whole lwb/legroom/chauffeur thing is particularly popular in that market.

Don’t worry, Torch. It’s nothing a quick flash-tune won’t fix.

As a law student, this was exactly my reaction. It frustrates me to no end that so many people are so willfully ignorant of the nuances of the criminal justice system. Saying that someone has a felony record doesn’t really mean much without a full understanding of the individual’s circumstances and the nature of the

You do realize that there are all kinds of non-violent or otherwise trivial crimes classified as felonies, right? Without any further information as to what this particular individual was convicted of, you have zero basis on which to determine how much sympathy he should get. Even if his crime was of the expected

Damn dude, I’m 100% sure you could have told this exact same story as a lighthearted tale about your driving-impaired friend. But instead you decided it needed to be a slur-laden diatribe against Asian people?

I was JUST saying this the other day. I want one of these bad boys as a beater/hauler. Preferably NA with a 5spd.

Nah, you like it exactly as much as you should. I’m not a big C4 guy, and frankly I’m not even much of a ‘vette guy, but the C4 GrandSport is weirdly awesome.

I feel like they could have just replaced the whole article with, “don’t.”
