I’m going to step in here as a representative of the hardcore Volvo guys for a moment. I have a 242 that’s cammed, lowered, and stuffed full of suspension mods which happily drifts with a 2nd gear clutch kick, one buddy drives a 940 Turbo with a 50 trim on it pushing over 20psi of boost, his brother has a 780 coupe

Ya know, it looks to be about the size of the original Honda CR-V and Toyota Rav-4. I’ve been saying for a while that this segment got left behind when cars started swelling up like that one kid in elementary school who was allergic to bees but somehow managed to get stung anyway.

Honestly, I could care less what the new Bentley looks like. Give me one of THOSE, and I’ll drive it until it’s my casket.

Yay, more clutch packs and complicated electro-mechanical systems to eventually replace. Mind you, I don’t mean for the first or even the second owner necessarily.

Good luck. I’ve been here for YEARS, and I’ve just stopped asking at this point.

This is a really interesting angle. It never occurred to me that drivers were paying that much attention to the presence or lack of a helmet (likely because I try to give cyclists as wide a berth as possible, regardless of their safety equipment). I know personally I definitely feel more risk averse when riding

This is disheartening to read. I’m not particularly “out” about my kink or involved in any groups because the general public seems to have a serious lack of understanding of BDSM. Things like this only further de-legitimize the kink community and reinforce my decision to stay private. If it isn’t SAFE, SANE, and

The weird thing about the Milan is that, while it made zero sense as a new car purchase, it could be a great value as a used car purchase. I image it carries very little, if any, premium over a fusion of the same era, so it might be a solid value proposition for somebody looking for a used, well equipped mid-size.

Were I to buy an EV, I think I would go full bore and get roof mounted solar installed as well. Fill up an on-site battery with solar during the day, and basically just transfer that energy into the car overnight.

The problem you’re having with the rhythm is probably because you can’t FEEL anything. So much of driving manual is based entirely on feel. Feel of the clutch engagement point, the feel of the power band trailing off and letting you know it’s time to shift. Try an afternoon in a real manual car, and I bet you’ll find

This is the benefit of learning stick in a city with hills everywhere. Within my first week or so driving manual, I got caught in bumper to bumper traffic going steeply uphill. After that, tight hill starts were a non-issue.

Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE it. But I don’t love it for north of $8k. Were it around $6k with a clutch pedal I’d be about it.

Is anybody else kind of over supercars? I mean yes, they’re sexy, they’re powerful, they’re fast. But realistically, most of us will never own one, and even if you did you could barely drive one without drawing either unwanted attention or ire from everybody around you. Especially now that we live in an age where you

Every car drives like crap if it has worn out suspension bits and/or bad alignment.

Dude, that intake is so sexy it should be illegal to show to children.

This was my exact experience driving a buddy’s NA MX-5 with a mild lower on fat tires, short shift kit, and straight-piped. It felt like a noisy glove on rails. Since that drive, nothing feels small, light, or connected enough to truly be visceral.

I rocked an ‘03 Odyssey EX-L in highschool, with the power rear doors and DVD player. Fold flat 3rd row stowed at all times to make room for a full bed. Perfect place for skipping class to nap or sneaking off for a nice “walk around the neighborhood” with the girlfriend. That 3.5L V6 hauled ass, even won a few

They haven’t built their “sedan for the masses” yet because they are relying on the Gigafactory to significantly reduce the cost of batteries once it comes online. They are actively developing said sedan, but it will not be possible to build a truly mass market Tesla until battery costs decline with scale.

Why don’t they focus on making their cars look classy again, as opposed to the monstrosity that is the GLA. Fix ugly first, build V12 Hybrid for millionaires later.

It’s a bit silly that they’re switching to turbo for efficiency reasons, and then blowing extra fuel out the tail on rundown for the “awesome” popping noises.
