I was going to respond, but you said all I could say, and probably more civil than I would have said it.

When there's a $40 pack of Final Fantasy XIII Complete, I'll buy it and play it and then continue to bitch about it on the internet, like I've done with every Final Fantasy since X.

See, I liked parts of Generations.

Nah, you've got experience to back up your claims (though I will say that using the CD-i games as examples of bad Zelda games is kind of unfair, but whatev), so I'll give you the win.

Looks shopped.

Get Kubo'd.

Not trying to be a fanboy, but the Zelda series is renowned for its consistent quality. It might not always be the most innovative series, and the individual games might not change too much between each release, but it is not a good example of a series with "some crappy games".

To follow your tone...

There are some crappy [...] Zelda games out there.

Incorrect, I said, "I have on small correction that will never be valid enough to actually be correct", as if to say, "I'm not kidding anyone, but..."

It's not a subject of high importance to me, just more of a "the more you know"-type thing.

Bad – The Limits of Rotoscope Animation

The book itself was a marketing tool for the game.

And I call Final Fantasy 2 "Final Fantasy IV EASY"

I wasn't being pretentious. I even said in the opening comment, "even though I know it'll never be valid." The comment was intended, first and foremost, to point out that the original title of the game was mistranslated as a kind of trivia humor, nothing more.

You mean The Legend of The Sword. Zelda is also Zelda Densetsu.

It's an issue with quality of translation. I'm not inferring we should call the game by its Japanese name, but that for the sake of artistic integrity, "A Link to the Past" is wrong.

I don't see how this has anything to do with which argument I support. Nitpicking is nitpicking and I am nitpicking about nitpicking. It sounds to me more like you think I should go lenient on the argument you support.

Some people are lore people. Some people mechanics people. Some people are speed runners. Some people like seeing their games outside the medium they were designed for. Are you a car guy? I don't have a fascination for cars, but I can understand through my own fascinations why people have their favorite makes and

Probably cost? The book did a good job at what it was supposed to do as a summary of the series as a whole, but it is definitely not the be all to end all collection of Zelda historia that some people would want out of it. That wouldn't be feasible at the cost.
