The percentage of young and healthy people that require hospitalization is low but you are correct that there is long term organ damage.  However I don’t know if this presents in all cases.

50 percent of the population would not be exposed.  The death rate is significantly lower if you remove certain groups, you also have to take into account asymptomatic people which makes the death rate even lower
