Um they last considerably longer. Ive got 80K and 78K on my two and know others with 180K on the engine....maybe for you they only last 60K.. you cant skimp on the maint. on this kinda motor.

It is...pistons and rods are same. But they are very different. The V8 seems to rev quicker but doesnt pull like the v10. Best ive seen was the M1 with V10 from M5....now that...was truly scarey thing.
