@ndspanky13: You may want to look that up again. With those cables you can only output the apps that support it. You can't display homescreen or SMS.

They had to jailbreak in order to get the iPhone to display on a screen. I doubt he actually jailbroke himself. The irony is amusing regardless.

I don't think Kurzweil literally means that the complexity of the brain and the thinking process could be simulated from the genome. He's likely talking about just the general structure of the brain.

@bowen13: Something similar. The way it was described there was a joystick in there.

@speed96: I've always wondered this myself. A business normally only makes decisions that seem this counterproductive if they are financially benefited from it in the end. My guess is that Apple has been making a lot more dough with the exclusive deal then they would've otherwise. That strategy may have worked short

@tande04: Bad choice of photo. Completely threw me off.

I can attest to this. I'm a casual gamer and it seems like whenever I turn my PS3 on, I must submit to at least 30 minutes of updates. If the game also requires an update, who knows how long that will be.

@talkingstove: How did that get there? Sorry this commenting system sucks.

@Dorian Arbos: We know of two nuclear blasts on cities and in both of those instances people survived at the epicenter, near the epicenter and anywhere in-between. There was an article here just a few days ago commemorating the anniversary of the destruction. People survived those attacks, there were many survivals.

@talkingstove: Did Google ever fooled you with that whole open-source sticker? Everyone should know by now that 'free' comes at a cost and 'freedom' comes at a sacrifice. Steve Jobs said it best.

@NatureNerd: Thanks. That's an explanation I'm not capable of providing.

@ps61318: Why should it be brittle? Speculation is fun.

@DarthMonkey: I agree. Many will switch from the dumb phones to the iPhone. I've actually heard of people returning Android phones because they are too complicated. This is why the iPhone appeals to so many buyers. I would guess the iPhone has converted many to the smartphone world even if they had no idea the

@Mikekearn has an overly long username: Yep. There must be a food supply. We are only supporting our large population today because our farming and transportation have become so efficient. If enough food was available for a small population, the interbreeding issue would be a problem dependent on the size and

@wagedomain: Read the first comment you made. Now that is snarky. My point is that if other animals survive humans, not many of course, are smart enough to see and copy this behavior (like we have been doing for millennia) in order to survive.

@Dorian Arbos: You are most certainly correct. The fossil record shows that the ones that have survived due so not because of intelligence but some other feature, such as size. But you neglect the fact that no animal has ever existed, as far as the evidence we have, that is as intelligent as us. Most people would

@DarthMonkey: VZ is sitting pretty with their Android offerings right now. They are pushing Android hard and deep and it seems to be working for them. Why yield to Apple now?

@wagedomain: Give some more examples of global scale events where, as far as we know, no species have survived.

@Name of Numbers: Yes, so as the intelligent species we should be able to increase our survival chances. Like I said, if all our possible sources of food are eradicated long enough then of course we will die.

@Samuel Wat: As far as i know, Sprint actually turned a profit recently. But anyway, you are right, all that benefits Apple but I don't believe Apple will bend for Verizon and Verizon is in better position not to succumb to Apples likely ludicrous request than they were 3 years ago.
