I've been looking at laptops to get (since my current laptop is 3-years old and I want something with a little more oomph), I'm using it primarily as a desktop replacement laptop.

I'm actually a senior, and I still have my old Dell XPS 1530 which still hasn't died yet, so I'm OK for portability. Hence why I'm OK to get a 17"
