Pretty much this. I just stop when I run out of gas. It’s really annoying because every time I go somewhere I have to estimate the exact amount of gas I’ll need.

I make heavy use of the “hide all from ___” and “unfollow” options (the former from various obnoxious FB sources when I still want to see “normal” posts from said person, the latter when I don’t want to unfriend said person - say, a cousin - but I’m tired of listening to their political rants).

I didn’t read the article but I just did the same thing for Facebook. My job is, um, “low production” so I have hours of downtime that I spent staring at that god damn page hitting refresh. Had to kick the addiction, enough was enough.

I get that they are upset and want to make a statement. But if they are upset about the amount of pollution from the car, isn't driving the car across country making a lot of pollution that wouldn't have been there otherwise?

But if they’re angry about their car’s pollution is it really a good idea to drive 6 months worth of miles in a week or two? It seems to me that they could have accomplished the same thing without creating so much pollution. And by “accomplish the same thing” I mean that it would have been just as meaningless as what…

What better way to show outrage a company that creates a care that deceptively pollutes the environment than to pollute the environment by knowingly driving the same polluting car across the country.

Regardless of what you think people need, luckily people get to choose what they want, still. This pickup will either sink or swim because of its merits. You want to sell products, make people want to buy them. It is that simple.

Seeing as we’re talking about Volkswagen here, the production version will have a single AA battery visible in its trunk, and it will actually be powered by a coal-fired engine beneath the floorboards.
