Actually, a not insignificant portion of the population cares when shitty people are allowed to maintain positions of power and continue to make the lives of people working under them miserable.  Not a large enough portion of the population to change much, granted, but I don't agree that means people should stop

Did you old man ever say you should read articles before you comment on them?
The documentary presents plenty of very convincing evidence. One of the key players in this was literally found guilty of a similar conspiracy in the ‘80s. Never mind the word “conspiracy”, this is a basic scam, the likes of which there are

Except does it have to be a white guy?

Levar Burton is right there, I’m just saying

She sounds awful, and most of that stuff would cause me to not want to watch her in anything.

But I don’t understand why the vaccination stuff always leads these articles about her except that its attention grabbing given the state of the world. “She once had a frivolous view of vaccines but changed her mind.” Why is

Yeah, when it comes to rape or domestic violence, most times they are.

Do yall not understand how editorial writing works? Yes Nathan was handling most articles about her. No, that doesn’t mean he is obsessed with her, it means he has a job on a team covering a spread of topics.

And not autistic.

It’s really only great if you’re cis, heterosexual and male.

LOL!! Okay! I am a snake for helping my friends avoid bad contracts! I am a snake for pointing out predatory practices and encouraging people to get advice to avoid them!

This is the problem with min-maxing your build, dumping all your points into Gaming Aptitude and neglecting to put anything into Emotional Maturity just leads to getting soft-locked in some scenarios.

It’s a general principle of ‘work for hire’ that the company you work for owns all your output while you’re on work time.

They’d have to get you to sign an NDA before even looking at the contract which seems a bit hard to do, and potentially not enforceable. Speak in vague enough terms and don’t name the company (like Jake has done here) and they can’t do shit without outing themselves.

So, as a lawyer, this kind of stuff is absolutely everywhere. Any situation where there is even a slight power imbalance, you will often have a brutally lopsided contract. Hell, I’ve written some of them!!

You did nothing to betray the community.

I think people overestimate just how connected the decision makers at Twitch are to the community at large. From everything I’ve heard, the Amazon purchase created a real disconnect.

This was my thought too. It was a technicality not to ban him immediately, the man is in jail / prison and unable to stream so it’s not like he was going to be streaming while in prison. I can easily see this just as internal bureaucracy at twitch resulting in the slow response.

It’s a bit anti-competitive. The times increasing are what push competitors to clean up their runs and try new strategies. Might have damaged the meta by withholding info - speedrunning tends to be a very open and collaborative community. I understand why people felt kind of betrayed.

That’s pretty absurd logic and definitely not true at all. I used to make edge-lord arguments in defense of awful positions to rile people up as a teenager and I suffered no consequences from it, yet I would never do that today because I’m a different person. A person does not need to be punished in order to realize

“I have to read this bullshit, right, I have to read this bullshit that gets the seal of approval from the people that work at the game, who make the game this way,” he said. “Before you call me toxic, deal with your own fucking game.”

Asmongold and his lemmings are not “the World of Warcraft community.
