The video would only really be necessary in the event that there was some kind of dispute as to how the accident happened-and could certainly create a more favorable outcome in regards to liability percentages (which depends on the state you are in) for you. In any regard, I imagine the officer would only confiscate

I recommend you get a phone capable of USB OTG. I keep a microusb OTG sd card reader in the car so if the dashcam picks up the accident I just pull the sd card out of the dashcam, place it in the adapter, copy it to the phone, and then the cops can have the SD card for a while. Usually I keep a spare 4GB card in

The police have a job to do, but why make it easier on them? the idea that they will change their mind is something I suppose is theoretically possible, but one I've never seen.* I suppose you've never flashed your lights at on-coming traffic to warn of a speed trap ahead?

No, it's your car, it's your video, and it's obtainable under subpoena (which means process of law). Furthermore, if you're concerned for whatever reason (or you simply don't want someone else looking through your car) - lock your car after the accident (first getting your insurance and registration out). Once

I would agree with that but my only concern is the slight chance that someone might come back later and complain that you didn't mention having it. I suppose if the date stamp and so on is rock solid that wouldn't matter that much.

I disagree, I'd advise to make no mention of it unless directly asked.

Judgment call about letting the police know you have it. If the cop asks for it and you give it to him, then you did so willingly. Can he demand it? Again, depends on the circumstances.

Do I immediately tell the officer that I have video, or wait to send it to my insurance? On top of that, if the officer asks for the camera/sd card, can he take it as evidence, leaving me with no proof of what happened?

The dash cam might be fair game for anyone. But NEVER erase or destroy evidence afterward. THAT will cost you.

I have a few questions on pictures/video.

Because you don't want a burglar or psycho-killer to know where you live.

He's probably bitter because he can't get out of the grays.

Maybe ban spectators sitting directly in front of the catch fencing, scheissekopfs...

I don't like seeing decent cars treated this way, I don't care what they are or who owns them. V6 Camaros need love too! I'm not sure if this was supposed to be funny or what. Definitely not a cool video like they tried to say at the end.

Man, that's tough. You really want to pull for the guy, but... I just can't root for a guy named Brady Aiken. Sorry Brady, can't do it.

Check the freezer. There are some big Ziploc bags down at the bottom, under some Werthers from 1975.

It looks like a robot face trying to squeeze its way out of the dash.

Nice review. I know you guys take what the manufacturer gives out for reviews, but I would love to read a review of one of these that wasn't a nearly $40k 4x4 Crew cab V6 variant.

Ya, and "Crash" won best picture. Award shows are always proof of quality.

One costs $46, the other costs $20. Unless the expensive one works more than twice as well as the cheap one, case closed.
